Subject:Professional Services Agreement with Wilson-Mikami Corporation for On- Call Engineering Services
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Wilson Mikami Corporation in an amount not to exceed $100,000 annually for On-Call Engineering Services in such final form as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
Currently, the City does not have dedicated staff or civil design engineers, but it utilizes contract engineering services for CIP projects. With the continued increase in CIP projects and miscellaneous design tasks, additional engineering support services are needed. In the last year, Wilson Mikami Corporation (Wilson Mikami) has supported the City with the Engineering Standards Update, Lakeshore Drive Sidewalk Project, and other support tasks. Wilson Mikami also has extensive experience as a prime consultant for land development projects.
Discussion
Wilson Mikami will provide engineering services such as general civil engineering design, general engineering consulting, drainage consulting and design, property assessment and uses, land surveying and property search, and support with plan checking related to Capital Projects or Land Development. Wilson Mikami will provide the much-needed support for general engineering services.
Fiscal Impact
The cost of services is estimated at $100,000 per annum. A combination of Fiscal Year 2024- 2025 CIP project budgets, developer deposits, and Gas Tax funds will support the engineering services provided.
