Subject:Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) for Main Street Gateways Design Development
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with David Evans and Associates, Inc. in an additional amount not to exceed $18,600 for Main Street Gateways Design Development in such final form as approved by the City Attorney and authorize the City Manager to execute change orders not exceeding 10% contingency of the total contract amount of $519,933, or $51,993, for unanticipated costs.
Background
The City entered the original Agreement on February 28, 2023, for $182,233.00 for the Main Street Conceptual Design Master Plan.
On December 10, 2024, the City Council approved Amendment No.1 to the original agreement in the amount of $319,100.00 for the preparation of construction documents.
Discussion
Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with David Evans and Associates in the amount of $18,600.00 as it pertains to the design development services for the Lake Elsinore Main Street Gateways. The proposal aims to support the City’s design/build in the development of the gateway structures on Main Street. This follows the conceptual plans created in collaboration with Hunt Design, focusing on refining and implementing the design concepts for the gateways.
Amendment No. 2 with David Evans and Associates
The scope includes assisting the City’s design/build in finalizing the designs for specific features, such as the gateway arch sign at Main Street and Sumner Avenue, the gateway sign at Main Street and Lakeshore Drive, and the Historic Route 395 sign at the same intersection. Hunt Design will provide design development services and construction coordination as part of this initiative.
Fiscal Impact
Funds are available in the City’s Fiscal Year 24/25 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
