Subject:Appointment to the Planning Commission
Recommendation
Appoint Andrew Pease (District 5) to serve on the Lake Elsinore Planning Commission for a term expiring December 31, 2028.
Background
The Lake Elsinore Planning Commission, per Municipal Code Section 2.24.020, consists of five members who:
•Must be at least 18 years old.
•Must legally reside within the City limits of Lake Elsinore. •Cannot be City officials or employees.
Planning Commissioners are appointed by the City Council by district, with one representative per district. Commissioners are generally appointed to four-year terms.
Discussion
On March 14, 2025, Myles Ross resigned from his position as the District 5 Planning Commissioner, creating a vacancy. The City Clerk’s Office posted a Notice of Vacancy on March 14, 2025, and accepted applications from March 14, 2025, through April 11, 2025. After reviewing a total of six applications received, Mayor Pro Tem Magee selected the new appointee. Approval of this item confirms Mayor Pro Tem Magee’s recommendation to fill the District 5 Planning Commission seat for a term expiring December 31, 2028.
