Proclamation
National Public Works Week
WHEREAS, Public Works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities, and services that are of vital importance to sustainable and resilient communities and the public health, high quality of life, and well-being of the people of the City of Lake Elsinore; and,
WHEREAS, the support and understanding from Citizens in our community of the importance of the work performed by qualified and dedicated personnel is vital to the quality and efficiency in the day-to-day operations of the Public Works systems such as the maintenance of infrastructures, storm drains, street & sidewalk repairs, parks, and lake maintenance; and,
WHEREAS, these infrastructures, facilities, and services could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of public works professionals, who are engineers, managers, and employees at all levels of government and the private sector, who are responsible for rebuilding, improving, and protecting our nation's transportation, streets, public buildings, and other structures and facilities essential for our citizens; and, WHEREAS, this year 2025 marks the 65th annual National Public Works Week; in accordance with this year's theme, "People Purpose Pressence," Meeting the needs of people is what gives Public Works its sense of purpose and they will continue to work effortlessly every day to ensure the safety and a higher quality of life for the Citizens of Lake Elsinore.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lake Elsinore, California, this 13" day of May 2025, do hereby proclaim the week of May 18-24, 2025, as "National Public Works Week" and urge all citizens to pay tribute to our Public Works professionals to recognize the substantial contributions they make for our communities in the City of Lake Elsinore.
