Background
The Murrieta Creek Trail is a multi-jurisdiction, active transportation trail that is consistent with the City’s General Plan and Eastlake Specific Plan adopted in 2017. The City was awarded the Active Transportation Program Cycle 4 grant in 2019 for the design and construction of the Murrieta Creek Multi-Use Trail project.
The proposed Murrieta Creek Multi-Use Trail includes a 1.3-mile multi-use trail that would extend between Skylark Drive and the Lake Levee Trail, a retaining wall at the northern terminus, multiple Arizona crossing throughout the trail, and a bridge structure spanning over an existing drainage area. The City received Construction funds allocation approval from the California Transportation Commission in March 2025.
The project was advertised for construction on May 13, 2025.
