Subject:Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreements for Engineering Plan Check Services
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreements for Engineering Plan Check Services with Charles Abbott Associates, Inc., Engineering Resources of Southern California (ERSC), and Michael Baker International, Inc. to provide on-call plan checking services in an amount not to exceed $100,000 each in such final form as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
On June 27, 2023, the City Council approved the Professional Services Agreements in the amount not to exceed $200,000, with Charles Abbott Associates, ERSC, and Michael Baker International. The Engineering Department for the City of Lake Elsinore requires review of private development projects for compliance with Conditions of Approval, City Ordinances, City Standards, Clean Water Compliance, and the Subdivision Map Act. The City uses contract engineering firms that have flexibility to provide staff to accommodate the fluctuation in workload for the review process.
Discussion
Due to the increasing and anticipated developer plan check workload, Amendment No. 1 will increase the compensation for the plan check services. Each contract requires an amendment to authorize an additional $100,000.
Fiscal Impact
Funds are budgeted in the Annual Operating Budget. The services provided are funded through developer’s plan check fees.
