Subject:Professional Services Agreement with Creative Industries Media Group for Video Production and Video Streaming Services
Recommendation
Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Creative Industries Media Group for Video Production and Video Live Streaming Services in an amount not to exceed $70,000 per year for three years, with two twelve-month extension options, in such final form as approved by the City Attorney.
Background
Since 2014, the City has contracted Creative Industries Media Group to provide professional video production and streaming services. These services play a vital role in supporting the City’s public information and economic development initiatives. They include filming, editing, and producing content such as the Annual State of the City Address, City Council meetings, community events, and various promotional and informational videos.
These videos are used to highlight key activities, milestones, and achievements within the City, and are distributed across multiple platforms, including social media, government education channels, and at special events to engage and inform the public. Some of the City’s videos, particularly those focused on economic development and council meetings, have garnered over 350,000+ views. All video content is carefully archived and cataloged to create a lasting historical record of the City’s progress and significant moments over time.
Discussion
Video production services will encompass regular, ongoing activities, as well as additional or unexpected projects. These may include special initiatives such as capturing footage of Launch Pointe or producing educational videos on essential City services, for example, road improvement methodologies.
CIMG Video Production and Streaming Services
The City Manager’s Office has been satisfied with the performance and services provided by Creative Industries Media Group and recommends that the City Council approve this agreement.
Approval will ensure the continuation of reliable video production and video streaming services for the City.
Fiscal Impact
A total of $70,000 has been allocated for Video Production and Video Streaming Services in the FY25-26 Operating Budget.
