Multicultural Festival Summary

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On Saturday, June 8, 2024, the City held its first Multicultural Festival at the Civic Center Campus from 3 PM to 7 PM. The event was a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the variety of cultural influences here in Lake Forest. Over 1,200 people attended and enjoyed music and dance performances from around the world, including the Bollywood Dance Company, Mariachi Toro, Hanabi Taiko Drummers, and a Lion & Dragon dance on the turf grass area. The crowd cheered as the dragons paraded through the seated on- lookers. The community also had the chance to experience food from Mediterranean, Mexican, Chinese, Belgian, Indian, and American cuisines.
Additionally, exhibit booths showcased a variety of cultural traditions from different parts of the globe.
Staff recommends the City Council receive and file a report from staff summarizing the success of the City’s first Multicultural Festival.

There is no fiscal impact of the recommended action.
