MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Wood in the Maple Room at the Civic Center, 5000 Clark Avenue, Lakewood, California.

PRESENTATION ON HOUSING ELEMENT
City Manager Thaddeus McCormack provided an introduction and a brief history on the Housing Element process.
Abel Avalos, Director of Community Development; Paul Kuykendall, Senior Planner; and Emily Elliott, Project Manager, Michael Baker International (via teleconference), displayed slides and made a presentation regarding the 2021-2029 Housing Element Update highlighting the requirements; contents; needs assessment; Regional Housing Needs Allocation; proposed compliance strategy; inventory approach; housing policy programs; housing program implementation; and affirmatively furthering fair housing. Mr. Avalos concluded by stating that staff recommended that the City Council hold a public hearing and adopt the resolution adopting the 2021-2029 Housing Element and the related Negative Declaration at the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Staff and the consultant responded to questions and comments from Council Members. . . .

There being no further business to be brought before the City Council, Mayor Wood adjourned the meeting at 7:24 p.m.
