Adjourned Regular Meeting held
March 25, 2025
MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER at 6:01 p.m. by Mayor Rogers in the Executive Board Room, 5000 Clark Avenue, Lakewood, California.

ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Mayor Todd Rogers
Council Member David Arellano
Council Member Steve Croft
Council Member Jeff Wood

DEVELOPMENT OF CORNER LOT AT DEL AMO BOULEVARD AND CLARK AVENUE
City Manager Thaddeus McCormack provided a brief history regarding proposed options for the development of the corner lot at Del Amo Boulevard and Clark Avenue.

Kevin Yamakawa, Principal Civil Engineer, introduced Jen Manckia-Wagner, Dahlin Group; Mark Lewis, Ardurra, Project Director for Municipal Services; and Perry Cardoza, Nuvis, Lead Landscape Architect, who displayed slides and presented the three concepts for the corner lot development. He stated that Option 1 was more park-like in nature and Option 2 provided a more “civic” appearance with both options having been designed to include all of the original scope components as specified in the RFP. It was noted that the preliminary cost estimates indicated that both options would exceed the project budget. After value engineering discussions focused on potential scope reductions, a third option, Option 1.5, was developed and was considered to be a hybrid of options 1 and 2, which pulled the town square impression of Option 2, while also incorporating some park-like features.

Staff and the consultants responded to questions and comments from Council Members regarding the visibility and iconic nature of the featured structure, unique programming options, size and scale of the stage, inclusion of a sun shade or canopy, potential funding, environmental assessment, and creative layout for separation and limited street access. . . .

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to be brought before the City Council, Mayor Rogers adjourned the meeting at 7:24 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Jo Mayberry
City Clerk
