MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER at 6:16 p.m. by Mayor Chase in the Executive Board Room, 5000 Clark Avenue, Lakewood, California.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN DISCUSSION
Aldo Cervantes, Director of Community Development, introduced John P. Keisler, CEO & Managing Partner for Sunstone Management, Inc., who displayed slides and made a presentation pertaining to the Economic Development Strategic Plan. He presented the Plan and its five-year roadmap for growth and highlighted cost-effective strategies including the Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District implementation. Mr. Keisler reviewed the phases of the plan development process, which included market and asset analysis, stakeholder engagement, strategic framework and implementation roadmap. He identified the plan vision and priorities including real estate investment, business attraction and retention, workforce development, industry cluster development and quality of life enhancements. It was staff’s recommendation that the City Council review and comment on the Lakewood Economic Development Strategic Plan (2025-2030) and direct the Community Development Department to finalize the draft for approval.
Staff and the consultant responded to questions and comments from Council Members pertaining to educational forums, focus on types of businesses, opportunity to modernize the mall subsequent to its sale, targeted outreach and input from stakeholders. . . .

There being no further business to be brought before the City Council, Mayor Chase adjourned the meeting at 7:06 p.m.
