1. Approve the Second Amendment to the cell tower lease with Verizon Wireless at Owen Memorial Park, 43011 North 10th Street West; and
2. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to sign all agreements and associated documents.
Fiscal Impact:
Increase annual revenue by an additional $3,600 for the expanded lease area. Per Section 4 of the First Amendment, the additional rent will increase by 3% annually.
Background:
On May 1, 2001, the City of Lancaster entered into a Lease agreement for a communications facility. On February 17, 2021, the original agreement was amended to include an irrevocable option, for no additional consideration, to expand the lease area by three hundred thirty-six (336) square feet of contiguous land, as depicted in Exhibit A. The grantee hereby exercises this option in this Second Amendment to the Original Lease.
The Second Amendment will approve an additional three hundred thirty-six (336) square feet of ground space contiguous to the existing leased premises as depicted in Exhibit A, as required for the colocation of the tower tenants and revenue increase.
The amendment will result in an increased monthly revenue of $300, effective the first rental payment due following the full execution of the amendment and memorandum. Except as specifically outlined in the Second Amendment, the agreement is otherwise unmodified and remains in full force.

Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless has over 226,000 global cell tower sites and was named one of the World’s Most Admired Companies in 2022 by Fortune Magazine. The Verizon Wireless site will be expanded and is located at Owen Memorial Park, 43063 10 th Street West, Lancaster, CA 93534.
