RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
SUBMITTAL OF THE APPLICATION(S) FOR ALL
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE GRANTS FOR WHICH
THE CITY OF LANCASTER IS ELIGIBLE
WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority DOJ is required to establish procedures governing the application, award, and management of the grants; and WHEREAS, DOJ grant application procedures require, among other things, the applicant's governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the administration of DOJ grants; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lancaster desires to secure grant funding for programs to raise awareness about the various factors contributing to violent offenses in the community; educate and empower the community members about effective strategies and techniques to prevent and mitigate violent crimes; and foster community engagement
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LANCASTER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lancaster authorizes the submittal of application(s) to the Department of Justice for all grants for which the City of Lancaster is eligible; and
Section 2. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Lancaster a grant agreement with the Department of Justice in the amount of $103,241.00.
