1. Award the Public Works Yard Modular Restroom Building to BOXX Modular, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas, in the amount of $215,350.52, base quote, plus a 10% contingency, to fabricate and install a modular restroom facility, at the City of Lancaster Public Works Maintenance Yard.
2. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to sign all documents.
Fiscal Impact:
Funds are available in the fiscal year 2023-2024 in expenditure accounts CP11BS041.CONST GL Code 4134990-8000 and 214-4100-5790. Accordingly, approve a purchase amount of $215,350.52, with a contingency of $21,535.05, for a total not to exceed the amount of $236,885.57.
Background:
City staff identified the critical need for additional accessible restroom facilities at our Public Works Maintenance Yard facility. Modular office buildings are prefabricated structures built to meet applicable federal and state commercial building codes. Custom specialty structures are built off-site in sections before being delivered to the site for installation. The off-site construction process facilitates the timely installation of the commercial modular building quickly, with less inconvenience and disruption to City staff.
Sourcewell contract 120822-BXX was awarded to BOXX Modular, Inc. Through this contract, the City could utilize BOXX Modular, Inc., to procure, fabricate, and install a modular restroom facility. All procurement documents and procedures meet all State and City requirements for competitive procurement. Therefore, we request that the Council approve this contract award. 1 5
