24. Background:

City staff identified the immediate need to repair various flooring issues at the Public Works Maintenance Yard. Investing in high-quality flooring materials, such as slip-resistant tiles, rubberized surfaces, or low-pile carpets, can significantly reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls.

Additionally, modern flooring options often come with enhanced durability and stability, minimizing the likelihood of accidents caused by uneven surfaces or worn-out flooring. Carpet tile systems, in particular, provide an added layer of safety by offering slip-resistant properties and cushioning underfoot, reducing the impact of falls. Furthermore, the modular nature of carpet tiles allows for easy replacement of damaged or stained tiles, ensuring that the flooring remains in optimal condition and reducing maintenance costs over time.
