Background:
The City of Lancaster utilizes consulting services from Infinity Technologies for our Geographic Information System (GIS) development, improvements, and general IT needs. GIS is a framework for gathering, managing, and analyzing data. GIS includes many data types, which are organized into layers of information and visualizations using maps. This allows more profound insights into data, which can identify patterns, relationships, and situations that help users make more informed decisions. GIS is used throughout many divisions of the City, including Community Development, Public Works, PARCS, Public Safety, and Emergency Management.
In addition to continuous efforts to expand upon and improve existing GIS data, during the last FY, Infinity Technologies assisted the City in many GIS accomplishments, including integrations with Accela and Tyler EAM, new publicly available map applications for Roadway Projects and Residential Projects, and the creation of over 17 new map layers and 11 new maps.
