RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
SUBMITTAL OF THE APPLICATION(S) FOR ALL
FEDERAL MICRO-GRANTS FOR WHICH THE CITY
OF LANCASTER IS ELIGIBLE
WHEREAS, pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code Section 34019(f)(3)(B), the Federal Micro-Grant, Small, Rural, and Tribal Body-Worn Camera (SRT-BWC) Program is authorized to administer grant programs (grants) in furtherance of Federal government efforts to aim at enhancing law enforcement capabilities in small communities; and WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority SRT-BWC is required to establish procedures governing the application, award, and management of the grants; and WHEREAS, SRT-BWC grant application procedures require, among other things, applicant's governing body declare by resolution certain authorizations related the administration of SRT-BWC grants; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lancaster desires to secure grant funding for programs to advance civil rights by promoting transparency and accountability in law enforcement operations. This transparency is essential for maintaining public trust and confidence in law enforcement agencies
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LANCASTER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lancaster authorizes the submittal of application(s) to Federal Micro-Grant Program for all grants for which the City of Lancaster is eligible; and
Section 2. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Lancaster a grant agreement with the Federal Micro-Grant, Small, Rural, and Tribal Body-Worn Camera in the amount of $24,000.00.
