Overview:

The bus tour included Sonya Patterson, Victoria Reyna, and Sydney Yeseta with the City of Lancaster and Aden Ferillo and Katja Dillmann with RRM Design Group. The purpose of the bus tour was to give RRM Design Group project staff a chance to understand the physical, social, and environmental makeup of the City of Lancaster, as well as the opportunity to visit key neighborhoods, districts, public gathering spaces, venues, and other relevant places within the City that either have public art, is viewed as an opportunity area, or plays a vital role to community.

2. Stakeholder Interviews
Date and Time: June 20, 2024, 10:30 am - 11:30 am, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, and July 22, 2024, 11 am - 12 pm
Overview:

A series of stakeholder interviews were conducted to gather input from residents of ancaster as well as members of City staff, community leaders, and various representative of local art groups. The following is a summary of what was heard in the various interviews Future art in Lancaster should have greater representation of and involvement with diverse communities in Lancaster
- Children should be involved in public art opportunities - Art that represents the City and Antelope Valley (with horses, poppies) is widely appreciated by the community
- Artwork should be dispersed in the City rather than focused at The BLVD - The art and culture of Lancaster and MOAH should be more widely promoted to enhance the City's identity as an art destination
- Community feedback and data should be collected to determine what people in Lancaster want to see in public art
Public art should be used as a way of enhancing public safety. For example, promote bicycle safety by having a mural related to bikes adjacent to roadway with a lot of bike traffic to a school to prime drivers to be more alert.

Priority locations for more public art, such as publicly owned parks and buildings for murals and other art, should be identified
- Early implementation art installation could include:
• Revamping the 'See and Be Seen' bicycle and pedestrian transportation safety utility wrap campaign
• Sponsored utility box art projects by artists or families - Policies should be established that support local talent and clearly state procedures for having new public art approved by the City
Potential funding sources for public art should be identified
