ORDINANCE NO. XXX
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LANCASTER, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LANCASTER AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND
DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LANCASTER DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That an amendment to the contract between the City Council of the City of Lancaster and the Board of Administration, California Public Employees’ Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, marked Exhibit, and by such reference made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
Section 2. The Mayor of the City Council is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said amendment for and on behalf of said Agency.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published and posted pursuant to the provisions of law in that regard.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption as an urgency ordinance.
It is necessary that this Ordinance become effective immediately upon its adoption in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Lancaster. The City has previously entered into an agreement with its employees which provides for the amendment approved hereby to become effective on or before February 28, 2025 and in the event that this does not occur there is the possibility of work stoppage or slow downs of our Law Enforcement personnel at the detriment of the citizens of the City of Lancaster.
