CITY OF LANCASTER
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LANCASTER, TO ACCEPT THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY
AFFORDABLE HOUSING SOLUTIONS AGENCY (LACAHSA)
MEASURE A FUNDS
A necessary quorum and majority of the City Council Members of the City of Lancaster hereby consents to, adopts, and ratifies the following resolution:
1. WHEREAS, Measure A is half-cent sales tax countywide to resolve homelessness through housing with services and making housing more affordable throughout Los Angeles County; and
2. WHEREAS, LACAHSA receives 33.75% of Measure A funds, which amounts to approximately $385 million annually. By June 30, 2035, LACAHSA must allocate 60% of its Measure A funding toward affordable housing creation, preservation, and ownership. The remaining funds support renter protections and technical assistance, with specific allocations for different regions within Los Angeles County; and
3. WHEREAS, The City of Lancaster will receive an annual allocation of the LACAHSA Measure A Funds. For the fiscal year 2025-2026, Lancaster's allocation is $2,706,937.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. The City of Lancaster authorizes the acceptance of the LACAHSA Measure A Funds of $2,706,937 for fiscal year 2025-2026 and funding allocated in subsequent years.
2. The City Manager, or their designee, is hereby authorized to execute in the name of the City of Lancaster all documents, including but not limited to agreements, amendments, requests for payment, and reports necessary to secure LACAHSA Measure A Funds and implement the approved grant programs and projects.
3. These authorizations are effective for five (5) years from the date of adoption of this resolution
4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
