The City of Lancaster has been awarded a Carl Moyer Program grant for the replacement of five existing gasoline-powered utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) with five new John Deere Gator TE Electric UTVs. The grant agreement provides reimbursement of up to $79,184.00.

The new electric UTVs will be utilized by City staff to support daily operations and transportation activities at various City facilities. Electric-powered equipment produces zero tailpipe emissions, reduces operating and maintenance costs, minimizes noise pollution, and supports the City's sustainability and environmental stewardship goals.

This purchase will replace the following existing utility vehicles:
2006 John Deere Gator (EQ #5851)
2008 John Deere Gator (EQ #5854)
2015 John Deere Gator (EQ #5667)
2016 John Deere Gator EQ #5618)
2016 John Deere Gator (EQ #5619)

The existing vehicles have reached the end of their useful service life, and will be removed from service and salvaged through an AVAQMD-authorized salvage vendor in accordance with Carl Moyer Program requirements. Destruction certifications will be submitted to AVAQMD to verify compliance with grant conditions.

The acquisition of these electric utility vehicles will modernize the City's fleet, reduce emissions associated with municipal operations, and support Lancaster's ongoing commitment to sustainability and clean transportation technologies.
