Approve the purchase of replacement uninterruptible power supply (UPS) equipment, power distribution units, network management hardware, and one-year UPS monitoring subscriptions from Logicalis, Inc.
G.C. Section 84308: No
Fiscal Impact:
$149,019.34 as per the attached Logicalis, Inc. Quotation No. 2026-245521v1 to be paid from account 11218000.5360.
Background:
The City relies on UPS equipment to provide short-term backup power and power conditioning for network, communications, server, audio/video, public safety, and other technology equipment located throughout City facilities. UPS systems help maintain continuity during brief power interruptions and provide time for connected equipment to remain operational or shut down safely during an extended outage.
Information Technology staff completed a citywide review of existing UPS equipment and identified units that should be replaced or standardized. The replacement plan covers equipment at City Hall, the Maintenance Yard, Police Department, Community Center, Museum of Art and History (MOAH), Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC), the Stadium, and seven City parks.
Logicalis, Inc. provided Quotation No. 2026-245521v1, dated August 28, 2026, for a citywide APC UPS replacement solution. The proposal includes 52 UPS units in multiple capacities to match the requirements of the City’s various technology locations: eight 5,000VA rack-mounted units, fourteen 3,000VA rack-mounted units, four 2,200VA rack-mounted units, one 2,200VA tower unit, four 1,500VA rack-mounted units, and twenty-one 1,500VA tower units. The quote also includes thirteen basic rack PDUs, one vertical rack PDU, one UPS network management card, and 52 one-year EcoStruxure IT Expert digital subscriptions for UPS monitoring.
Standardizing the replacement equipment on APC models will simplify ongoing support, monitoring, maintenance, and future replacement planning. Network-capable UPS equipment and the included monitoring subscriptions will provide Information Technology staff with improved visibility into UPS status and power-related events across City facilities.
The Logicalis quotation states that the purchase adheres to the pricing requirements of CMAS Contract No. 3-14-70-3040B. Use of the CMAS contract provides competitively established contract pricing for the proposed equipment. The quoted grand total is $149,019.34, including estimated sales tax. Prices in the quotation are valid for 30 days from the date of the document and may be subject to manufacturer or distributor price changes prior to shipment.
