SUMMARY:
The City operates and maintains a fleet of work vehicles for the purpose of inspecting, maintaining and operating City parks, facilities, utilities and related infrastructure. As the City grows, along with its operations and addition of new staff, including expected wear and tear of the existing city' s vehicles staff is requesting additional fleet vehicles to continue effectively performing citywide maintenance and repairs without minimal interruption.
Due to the shortage of available vehicles and supply and demand issues, staff executed Purchase Order No. 22- 611 with Elk Grove Auto/ Winner Chevrolet for the purchase of five ( 5) fleet vehicles for $ 291, 550. Additionally, staff is requesting to liquidate Purchase Order Nos. 22- 276 and 22- 277 with American Chevrolet, previously approved by Resolution 21- 4966 for a combined total of $ 84, 336, and move the funds to Purchase Order No. 22- 616 to purchase two ( 2) additional vehicles with Elk Grove Auto/ Winner Chevrolet due to prior supplier' s significant increase in price. Tonight, staff is requesting ratification of City Manager action to enter into contract with Elk Grove Auto/ Winner Chevrolet:

BACKGROUND:
The City operates and maintains a fleet of work vehicles for the purpose of inspecting, maintaining and operating City parks, facilities, utilities and related infrastructure. As the City grows, along with its operations and addition of new stafF, including expected wear and tear of the existing city' s vehicles staff is requesting additional fleet vehicles to continue effectively performing citywide maintenance and repairs without minimal interruption.
Due to the shortage of available vehicles and supply and demand issues, staff executed Purchase Order No. 22- 611 with Elk Grove/ Winner Chevrolet for the purchase of five ( 5) fleet vehicles for $ 291, 550. Additionally, staff is requesting to liquidate Purchase Order Nos. 22- 276 and 22- 277 with American Chevrolet, previously approved by Resolution 21- 4966 for a combined total of $ 84, 336, and move the funds to Purchase Order No. 22- 616 to purchase two ( 2) additional vehicles with Elk Grove/ Winner Chevrolet due to prior supplier' s significant increase in price.
This brings a total of$ 375, 886 in Purchase Orders assigned to Elk Grove Auto/ Winner Chevrolet for the purchase of:
Five ( 5) Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Utility Work Trucks with ladder racks, and Two ( 2) Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4WD W/ Headache Rack and Safety Lighting.
Staff requested quotes from multiple dealerships, which included a proposal from Elk Grove Auto/ Winner Chevrolet, a Chevrolet dealer in Elk Grove, California. In accordance with LMC sections 2. 36. 050( D) and 2. 36. 110( B) the pricing provided by Elk Grove Auto/ Winner Chevrolet is through the Government Pricing Contract, and it was also the lowest quote received.
Therefore, tonight' s action is requesting ratification of City Manager' s action approving the related purchase orders, which were authorized by the City Manager to allow vehicles to be purchased by April 21, which was the General Motors ( GM) purchase deadline.

Funds are currently budgeted in FY 21- 22 for the two (2) vehicles previously approved by Resolution 21- 4966. However, staff is requesting a budget amendment of 291, 550 to the adopted Fiscal Year 2021/ 22 Budget to cover the five ( 5) new vehicles.
