Following the annual renewal of Soracco' s contract for the same amount in subsequent fiscal years, the current year has witnessed a substantially higher number of emergency repairs. BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the City' s water, sewer, storm drain and recycled water systems and streets and sidewalks located within the public right- of- way. In situations where urgent wet utility and street repairs that are needed beyond Public Works Department' s resources, on- call constructions services are required.

Staff issued an informal Notice Inviting Bids for the On- Call Construction Services on June 9, 2020, in accordance with the Public Contract Code and the Lathrop Municipal Code, Chapter 3. 30. On July 13, 2020, Council approved a contract with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Soracco, Inc., to provide on- call construction services needed for wet utility ( potable water, sewer, storm drain, and recycled water) and street repair services for planned and emergency work for fiscal year 2020- 21.

The contract was amended in December 2021 to adjust the contract award based on allowances for planned and emergency work.

The amount of the original contract award is not- to- exceed cost of $ 200, 000 per fiscal year and based on a time and material basis. Amendment No. 1 is being issued to clarify these specifics.
