2 Background
• Since 2000, The San Joaquin Council of Governments
(SJCOG) has coordinated a delegation of
policymakers, governmental officials and business
leaders from San Joaquin County to call upon
Congressional Representatives and their Staff in
Washington D.C. to discuss specific issues and projects of importance to the region.
• Lathrop has participated in approximately 18 One
Voice trips.
3 Select One Voice Participants
• Travel is scheduled from May 5 – May 9, 2024.
• City policy requires Council approval for all out of state travel. • Depending on the option, a budget amendment may be
required to cover the costs of the travel.
• Current members to SJCOG Board of Directors: Lazard
(Delegate), and Diallo (Alternate)
• SJCOG reimburses 50% of airfare and hotel costs for
appointed members. Including, meals per diem based on
SJCOG policy ($10 breakfast, $15 lunch, and $30 dinner) 4 Council to Select & Approve Preferred Option
In order to prevent a quorum from doing City business during the trip, it is recommended that attendees be limited to two members of the Council, one of whom may include the Mayor.
