Fundraiser
SUMMARY:
Review and consider adoption of a resolution to approve a facility fee waiver request from Grace Community Church for the use of Scott Brooks Gymnasium in accordance with the City of Lathrop Fee Waiver Policy. Grace Community Church submitted a facility fee waiver request for the use of Scott Brooks Gymnasium for June 8, 2025, to host a Basketball Tournament Fundraiser from 12: 00 p. m. to 7: 00 p. m. This fundraiser is striving to send youth ( grades 6th - 12th) to summer camp.
The Parks and Recreation Commission typically reviews and makes recommendations on approving Fee Waiver requests; however, the submission came in after the last Parks and Recreation Commission meeting and the May 1, 2025 meeting was canceled. In order to move forward with this Fee Waiver request, staff reviewed the request and recommends Council approval as it meets the requirements of the Fee Waiver Policy and are of public benefit, de minimis in nature and not subsidized from other facility fees. Staff requests that the Council consider approval of the proposed resolution for the Fee Waiver requested by Grace Community Church.
BACKGROUND:
Staff received a request for a fee waiver that meets the requirements of the Fee Waiver Policy, from a local organization for the use of a city facility to support their activities. Grace Community Church is a local non- profit engaged in charitable, social, cultural, and community development activities. Grace Community Church submitted a facility fee waiver for the use of Scott Brooks Gymnasium for June 8, 2025, to host a Basketball Tournament Fundraiser from 12: 00 p. m. to 7: 00 p. m. in the amount of 1, 006. 24 which includes both the cost of the facility and staffing.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Council consider adoption of a resolution to approve the requested fee waiver as it provides a public benefit to the community and the amount of the

FISCAL IMPACT:
The fees associated with the facility fee waiver request total $ 1, 006. 24 which includes both the cost of the facility and staffing.

RESOLUTION NO. 25 -
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LATHROP TO
APPROVE A FACILITY FEE WAIVER REQUEST FROM GRACE COMMUNITY
CHURCH FOR THE USE OF CITY FACILITIES TO HOST A BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER TOTALING $ 1, 006. 24
WHEREAS, the City received a Facility Fee Waiver request from Grace Community Church in accordance with the City of Lathrop Fee Waiver Policy for the use of the Scott Brooks Gymnasium for June 8, 2025 to host a Basketball Tournament Fundraiser; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission typically reviews and makes recommendations on approving Fee Waiver requests; however, the submission came in after the last Parks and Recreation Commission meeting and the May 1, 2025 meeting was canceled; and
WHEREAS, staff reviewed the request and recommends Council approval because the requested waiver meets the requirements of the Fee Waiver Policy and is of public benefit, de minimis in nature and not subsidized from other facility fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lathrop hereby finds the request to be of public benefit, de minimis in nature and not subsidized from other facility fees and does hereby approve the Facility Fee Waiver for Grace Community Church for the use of the Scott Brooks Gymnasium in the amount of $ 1, 006. 24.
