2 Background
• Since 2000, The San Joaquin Council of Governments
(SJCOG) has coordinated a delegation of
policymakers, governmental officials and business
leaders from San Joaquin County to call upon
Congressional representatives and administrative staff in Washington D.C. to discuss specific issues and projects of importance to the region.
• City of Lathrop officials have participated in
approximately twenty (20) One Voice trips.
3 Select One Voice Participants
• This year, the conference will be held from
May 3 – May 7, 2026, travel dates included.
• City policy requires Council approval for all out of state travel.
• Travel funds for the One Voice Trip are not included the City Council expense budget.

• However, if Council elects to send the City Manager to attend this years’ One Voice Legislative Event, funds are available.
• If Council elected to have 1 or 2 Council Members attend this years’ One Voice Legislative Event, a budget
amendment would be required depending on the
selected option.
• Mayor Akinjo serves as Board Member for SJCOG – The city would be eligible for partial reimbursement of travel costs. • Council to discuss and select participants and approve out of state travel budget amendment.
