SUMMARY:
Staff requests authorization to purchase a RapidView IBAK Mainline Camera Inspection System From Municipal Maintenance Equipment, Inc. in the amount of 602, 03. Staff also requests the approval of a budget amendment transferring funds from the MBR Capital Replacement Fund 6110 for the purchase.
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division is responsible for maintenance and routine inspection of the City' s sewer collection system.
A Closed -Circuit Television ( CCTV) camera system is a critical component to accurately assess the condition of gravity sewer mainline and lateral pipes, identify and prioritize pipes that need cleaning, and to diagnosis problems found within the collection system. The City currently owns a CCTV camera trailer which has broken down, and replacement parts are no longer available for purchase. Utility staff reviewed multiple camera systems and selected the RapidView IBAK camera system as the preferred option due to the ability to inspect a wide range of sewer line sizes, inspect sewer laterals from the mainline, and that staff will operator the camera equipment within the truck increasing their comfort and safety during maintenance activities.
Routine equipment service will be provided by RapidView IBAK' s distributor, Municipal Maintenance Equipment ( MME), who already provides service and repair for the City' s combination Vacuum/ Jet truck. The proposal has been acquired utilizing Sourcewell; a governmental agency that establishes purchasing contracts through a competitive bidding process. Purchases through Sourcewell meet the requirements of Cooperative Purchasing Agreements described in Lathrop Municipal Code ( LMC) Section 2. 36. 110( D).
