Good afternoon, Mayor and City Council
I hope you are fine!
FYI
I spoke to Joshua and he say the disqualification for our organization for Fireworks sales application is because we don't spend the funds by the end of the year (2022), I ask him where say that, he say on the packet (Sorry but I don't see nothing with that information on the packet). Also I read the city ordinance code 8.12.050 (cited on the letter) nowhere in the code that says the fund has to be spent by the end of the year. Can you show me where this is described in the codes? Please read my letter, and copy all the emails between me and Joshua Thank you very much for you time

February 5, 2023
Good morning Joshua,
I hope you are well!
1 am writing to you because I do not really understand the letter, we have received in our congregation Lawndale Foursquare Church regarding the denial to be part of the Fireworks Stand of this year 2023 until 2029, the reasons that we did not meet the expectations of the city of Lawndale in the Distribution of the money designated for youth according to the city.
Some clarifications:
a. on May 4, we had a face-to-face meeting in the City of Lawndale, there Joshua and the other gentleman who was there at the meeting I do not remember his name, they informed me that the 50% money should be used exclusively in an event for young people.
b. On September 1, send Financial Part A, along with proof of payment of sales taxes. c. On October 12 the city of Lawndale made this request:
The Finance Director is requesting a member roster from each of your organizations.
This roster should include the names and addresses of all members of your organization.
Per the Lawndale Municipal Code fireworks sales participants memberships must consist of at least 30% Lawndale residents. Please submit your membership rosters to the Finance department either in person or by email ASAP.
On October 19 I SENT the list of members of our church
d. On December 1, I sent you the Financial Part B, with an estimate of the expenses of the event that we will use on July 27-30 for a Youth retreat of the Foursquare organization (exclusive event for young people With the cost of each participant, people who will take care of them, snacks and two vans to transport them Lawndale Foursquare church

Jesus Christ is the same J L yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 Pastores Claudio & Adriana Kosacki
The reason why we decided to invest the money in the event of youth camp is because it is an exclusive t for young people, and we have been able to get people who can accompany and take care the youth this year 2023. Also, to clarify as a requirement of the Foursquare organization when an adult is involved with young people are involved, they need have a Background check to be able to participate. "WE HAVE NOT USED A SINGLE DOLLAR OF THESE DESIGNATED FUNDS YET"
In the letter we received on Saturday from the City of Lawndale, was mentioned that maybe would do an audit of the financial accounts of the church, which I do not understand why, if we have not spent the money yet and I should be use on the July 27- 30 at the location of Camp Cedar Crest in Running Springs.
I attach all the documents mentioned here that I have already sent you on the dates I mentioned.
I would also like to suggest you since the events we hold do not meet the expectations of the city and Lawndale, you should suggest the correct way to apply the funds designated for young people. On the other hand, I asked you in person at the meeting we had on May 4, if we could send the funds to any youth organization in the city of Lawndale, to which I had no answer from you. Also, when as a city you have expectations that organizations come to carry out a project, it is necessary that you can provide with examples and ways to do it.
Last, if six organizations that have participated in Fireworks, five do not meet the expectations that the city of Lawndale has, I think it is a problem to consider on your part and which should be taken care from your office.
Thank you for your time and I will be waiting for your response regarding this situation.
