SPECIAL MEETING
May 26, 2026
A. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Mayor Pullen-Miles called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. in the Harold E. Hofmann Community Center, 14700 Burin Avenue, Lawndale, California.
Councilmembers Present: Mayor Robert Pullen-Miles, Mayor Pro Tem Sirley Cuevas, Councilmember Pat Kearney, Councilmember Francisco M. Talavera.
Councilmembers Absent: Councilmember Bernadette Suarez.
Other Participants: Interim City Manager Raylette Felton, Assistant City Clerk Yvette Palomo B. CEREMONIALS (Flag Salute and Inspiration)
Councilmember Talavera led the flag salute.
C. COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL
Mayor Pullen-Miles thanked the community members for their dedication and hard work on influencing the outcome of the Metro alignment decision of the Metro K Line Extension Project.
D. PRESENTATIONS
1. Presentation of Certificates of Recognition to Community Members, including the South Bay Environmental Justice Alliance
— Presentation of certificates to community members and the South Bay Environmental Justice Alliance, recognizing their role in Metro's alignment decision of the Metro K Line Extension Project.
Mayor Pullen-Miles invited community members to share a few remarks.
Glen Brackenridge, commented on the accomplishments of the community members individually and as a group, and the successful preservation of the community.
Chelsea Schreiber, thanked the community members for their efforts and hard work on the project.
