OPENING FUNCTIONS
A. Call to Order
Board President Dr. Javier Ayala convened the Special Meeting of the Lemon Grove School District and Lemon Grove City Council meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.
School Board: Roll Call and Establishment of Quorum

Absent: Board Vice President Yajaira Preciado, Board Member Dorinda Miller Staff Present

Action: Moved by Councilmember Heredia, second by Councilmember Altamirano to approve the meeting agenda.

H. Recognition: Moment of Silence in Memory of Sitivi "Steve" Faiai Board President Dr. Javier Ayala led a moment of silence in honor and memory of Sitivi "Steve" Faiai
I. Recognition: Trustee Cheryl Robertson
Board President Dr. Javier Ayala introduced the item. Superintendent Marianna Vinson provided opening remarks.
Members of the City Council and the School Board each shared their reflections and remarks.
Superintendent Vinson presented Board Member Cheryl Robertson with a Memory Box.
Mayor Pro Tem Mendoza read a proclamation in her honor.
Mayor Snow arrived at 6:36 p.m. and formally presented the proclamation to Board Member Robertson.

A. Lemon Grove School District: Overview (10 minutes)
Superintendent Marianna Vinson presented the item.
Vinson responded to questions/comments from the School Board and City Council.
B. Lemon Grove School District: Facilities Update (15 minutes) Superintendent Marianna Vinson introduced Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Operations Services Carlos Avalos to present the report.
Carlos Avalos responded to questions/comments from the School Board and City Council.
C. City of Lemon Grove: Overview (10 minutes)
City Manager Lydia Romero presented the report.
City Manager Romero and Lt. Barry responded to questions/comments from the School Board and City Council.
D. Artificial Intelligence Discussion (15 minutes)
Board President Dr. Javier Ayala presented the report.
Lemon Grove School District and City Council engaged in deliberations.
3. ADJOURNMENT
A. School Board: Adjourn
Board President Dr. Javier Ayala adjourned the meeting at 8:26 p.m.
B. City Council: Adjourn
Mayor Alysson Snow adjourned the meeting at 8:26 p.m. and announced that the next regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
