SUBJECT: First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Black, O’Dowd and Associates, Inc. for Engineering Services for Stephenson Center Maintenance Project
RECOMMENDATION
Approve a First Amendment to the agreement with Black, O’Dowd and Associates, Inc. for Engineering Services for Stephenson Center Maintenance Project.
BACKGROUND
On May 16, 2023, the City Council approved an agreement with Black, O’Dowd and Associates, Inc. (BOA) to provide Engineering Services for the Stephenson Center Maintenance Project. The agreement is set to expire on December 31, 2024.
BOA’s scope of work includes the design for replacing the roof at the Stephenson Center building, as well as upgrades to the public restrooms on the ground floor. The project includes design for three levels of roof, replacement of five skylights, upgrades to the restroom with the latest ADA standards.
DISCUSSION
The design is currently 90% complete and expected to be completed by January 2025.
BOA will be retained to provide design-support services during construction as well.
The attached amendment, if approved by the City Council, would extend the agreement with BOA until completion of the project. The amendment maintains the existing compensation with no changes.

There are no additional financial implications resulting from this recommendation. The project remains within budget.
