CITY OF LOMITA
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR URBAN FORESTRY & INVENTORY 2024 24300 NARBONNE AVE.
LOMITA, CA 90717
United Pacific Services, Inc. (UPS) has a long history of providing Tree Maintenance Services to cities, counties and the State of California. We have been providing Urban Forestry Tree Maintenance Services to the City of Lomita for the last 3 years. Our crews have a proven track record of responding to all emergency situations 24/7 within one hour of notification, a perfect record. In the past twenty years we have invested over 5.5 million in specialized equipment from 100' aerial bucket trucks to tractors with grapple loaders to roll-off trucks and a fleet of 20 aerial bucket trucks that range from 60' up to 100'.
We are based in Los Angeles County and we have local crews that live in Los Angeles County, and each employee has many years of experience in doing tree maintenance contracts. Our crews are ISA Certified Arborist and also ISA Certified Tree workers. In addition, they are Certified Equipment operators and Certified in the use of a 25-ton crane. Many of them have a Class A & B license that permits them to drive 3 axle diesel trucks. All of our employees have been trained on how to deal with the residence of the city and especially listening to them and assisting them with any questions with regarding scheduling or the type of trimming we are doing to their trees. Our employees know and realize that the residence of the city come first and at all time we must as a company take the time to answer their questions and assist them in any way possible.
One of the main differences between (UPS) and other companies, like (WCA), is that (UPS) provides a full-time experienced Supervisor with each crew, that works with city staff on a daily basis. With (WCA) for example, someone with this kind of experience would be an area manager or in the office, and not working with the crew daily.
Tree Inventory will be provided by the Davey Tree Company, See Link, https://www.davey.com/treekeeper . The current TreeKeeper inventory is already in place and ready to use upon award of the contract. Because the Tree Inventory is already in place, (UPS) will provide the tree inventory to the City of Lomita at (No Cost). (UPS) will also provide support services, training, and pay for annual renewal license fees , so there will also be no additional costs to the city.

Year 2006
In order to meet project schedules UPS proposes to
meet with City of Lomita staff prior to starting the

limbs throughout the city and any dead trees that
could cause a potential liability to the city. Our
survey and evaluation of the city's street and park
trees will be a joint effort between our staff at UPS

Upon completion of our field inspection of each
tree we will make recommendations to the city
based on the city's annual tree maintenance budget.

by an LS.A. Certified Arborists with over 25 years
of experience in government contracts and will
include target trimming of potentially dangerous
