Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lomita City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in the Council Chambers at Lomita City Hall, 24300 Narbonne Avenue, Lomita, CA 90717, pursuant to Sec. 3-2.08 of the Lomita, California Municipal Code (LMC) to consider the Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP), which helps identify risks in our community, such as flooding, wildfires, and earthquakes, and outlines actions to reduce the impact of these disasters.
As part of a required five-year update to this plan, the City of Lomita is holding a public hearing to invite residents and stakeholders to share any concerns about local hazards, suggest ways to reduce risks, or provide ideas for improving disaster preparedness. The City Council invites the public to participate in shaping a plan that protects the community, reduces the impact on people, property, and infrastructure, and ensures the City of Lomita can access federal funding for mitigation and response efforts.
