1. OPENING CEREMONIES
a. Call Meeting to Order
The special meeting of the Lomita City Council was called to order by Mayor Segawa at 4:33 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in the Commission Conference Room at Lomita City Hall, 24300 Narbonne Avenue, Lomita, California.

PRESENT: Councilmembers Gazeley, Uphoff, Waronek, and Mayor Segawa
ABSENT: Mayor Pro Tem Waite
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Vialpando, City Attorney Rusin, Assistant City Manager Hernandez, and City Clerk Gregory
2. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Mayor Segawa opened the public comment period. No public comment was received.
3. SCHEDULED ITEMS
a. CONDUCT INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS TO FILL TWO VACANT SEATS ON THE
PLANNING COMMISSION
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Interview applicants for consideration of filling two vacant seats on the Planning Commission, with terms ending June 2030; and direct staff to schedule this item for nominations and possible appointment at the June 2 regular City Council meeting.
City Manager Vialpando introduced the item. The City Council interviewed five applicants.
No decisions were made and no votes were cast.
4. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, Mayor Segawa adjourned the meeting at 5:35 p.m.
