RESOLUTION NO. 2026-23
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOMITA
ESTABLISHING A SERVICE AWARDS POLICY TO RECOGNIZE AND
SHOW APPRECIATION TO ITS EMPLOYEES AND COMMISSIONERS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOMITA DOES HEARBY RESOLVE, FIND, DETERMINE, AND DECLARE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Recitals.
A. The City of Lomita wishes to show its appreciation to its employees and commissioners that service the city in numerous capacities.
B. The City Council of the City of Lomita agreed that a Service Award Policy shall be adopted to act as a guideline for showing the city’s appreciation to the various appointed employees and commissioners.
SECTION 2. Findings. The City Council finds that City employees and commissioners are responsible for promoting and protecting the public health, safety, and welfare and it is in the public interest to recognize the service of employees and commissioners.
SECTION 3. Policy Approval. The City Council hereby adopts and approves the Employee Service/Recognition Awards & Commissioner Award Policy for the City of Lomita, attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 4. Repeal. Any policies, procedures, or portions thereof that conflict with the Employee Service/Recognition Award Policy adopted by this Resolution are hereby repealed to the extent that any portion or provision thereof is in conflict with the Employee Service/Recognition Award Policy.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective immediately upon adoption.
SECTION 6. Publication. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and certify this record to be a full, true and correct copy of the action taken.
