SUBJECT: First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Transtech Engineers, Inc. for Public Works Oversight Services in an Amount Not to Exceed $9900 Additional, for a Total Agreement Cost Not to Exceed $29,400.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the First Amendment to the Agreement with Transtech Engineers, Inc. for Public Works Oversight Services.
BACKGROUND
Following the departure of the former Public Works Director, the City entered into an agreement with Transtech Engineers, Inc to provide interim Public Works Oversight Services during the transition in leadership within the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department oversees a wide range of critical municipal functions, including infrastructure maintenance, capital improvement projects, street operations, fleet management, facility maintenance, environmental compliance, stormwater requirements, and coordination with utility providers and contractors. Continuity in operational leadership is essential to maintaining service levels and advancing City initiatives.
DISCUSSION
During this transition, services were provided by Ahmad Ansari, who brings extensive municipal work and engineering experience assisting local agencies with infrastructure operations, capital improvement projects, contractor coordination, and departmental administration. Mr. Ansari provided executive-level support to ensure continuity of Public Works operations during the transition period.

2 The City has since hired a new Public Works Director and transition efforts have concluded. However, the original agreement amount and duration of services approved for interim oversight services exceeded the originally anticipated level of support. During the transition period, the Public Works Department continued advancing numerous operational initiatives, infrastructure projects, and service coordination efforts that required ongoing executive-level oversight and support.
FISCAL IMPACT
The attached first amendment to the agreement, if approved by the City Council, would increase the original contract amount by $9,900 for a total agreement amount not to exceed $29,400.
