1. OPENING CEREMONIES
a. Call Meeting to Order
The special meeting of the Lomita City Council was called to order by Mayor Segawa at 4:23 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in the Commission Conference Room, City Hall, 24300 Narbonne Avenue, Lomita, CA 90717.
b. Roll Call
PRESENT: Councilmembers Gazeley, Uphoff, Waronek, Mayor Pro Tem Waite, and Mayor Segawa
ABSENT: None
STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Vialpando, City Attorney Rusin, Assistant City Manager Hernandez, and City Clerk Gregory
2. PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no requests to speak during public comments.
3. SCHEDULED ITEMS
a. CONDUCT INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS FOR COMMISSION VACANCIES RECOMMENDED ACTION: Interview applicants for two seats on each commission, with terms ending in June 2030.
City Manager Vialpando introduced the item.
The City Council interviewed the following four candidates: Bobby Eubanks, Jeff Keys, JoAnna Touchet, and Claire Wiliams.
No formal action was taken at the meeting.
RECESS TO CLOSED SESSION
This time has been set aside for the City Council to meet in a closed session to discuss the matters listed below pursuant to Government Code § 54957.
