Councilmembers:
Please note that the bicycle infrastructure survey targeted areas with existing bicycle infrastructure. These areas were mainly in wealthier and more touristy areas. There were no survey points in the westside. There were no points addressing the extremely dangerous crossings from the westside at the Anaheim, PCH, and Willow bridges. Nor at Wardlow.
There was no acknowledgement of the lack of bicycle infrastructure on the westside, a high‐pollution burden, high‐poverty, and high incidence of using bikes as a means of transportation. Since the last master plan there has been no significant increase in bike paths on the westside. Where is equity? 1/18/2022

Curious;
Hopefully both of these updates aren't "just in time production" but with the way the S&P budget get spent in this town...

My name is Padric Gleason Gonzales. I live in District 6 at the intersection of Anaheim and Cherry, neither of which have have a bike lane. I don't own a car and I commute to my job in Downtown Long Beach using either a bike or scooter.
Does it seem fair that 100% of our roadway is dedicated to motor vehicles? In 2018, the Office of Civic Innovation hosted the Anaheim Street Collider series over the course of 4 months, producing a community vision and master plan to improve mobility and enhance our neighborhood. 3 years later? Unfunded and neglected. https://www.longbeach.gov/smartcity/projects/anaheim‐st/ Year after year, we read that cyclist deaths are up. Every week, another pedestrian death or car accident. Please invest in traffic calming to slow down vehicle speeds, in complete streets to ensure equitable access for all modes of transportation, and expand physically‐separated bike lanes. The city is not keeping your promises or implementing the bike master plan fast enough. 1/10/2022
