A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LONG BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH FRONTIER
CALIFORNIA INC. TO PROVIDE LOCAL AND LONG
DISTANCE TELEPHONE, DATA COMMUNICATIONS, AND
INTERNET SERVICES, ON THE SAME TERMS AND
CONDITIONS AFFORDED TO THE CITY OF LOS
ANGELES, IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$2,200,000, UNTIL THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES
CONTRACT EXPIRES ON MARCH 31, 2024, WITH THE
OPTION TO RENEW FOR AS LONG AS THE CITY OF LOS
ANGELES CONTRACT IS IN EFFECT, AT THE
DISCRETION OF THE CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Long Beach, Section 1802, permits the City Manager to enter into a contract 1on behalf of the City , in writing or otherwise, without advertising for bids, for services, supplies, materials, equipment or labor, with other government agencies, when authorized by resolution; and WHEREAS, the City requires local and long distance telephone, data communications, and internet services; and
WHEREAS, Frontier California Inc. has a contract with the City of Los Angeles, California, for the telephone, voice and data services, Contract No. C-139544 ("LA Contract"); and
WHEREAS, the City 's participation in the LA Contract will facilitate acquisition of local and long distance telephone, data communications, and internet services as well as provide considerable cost benefits to the City ; and EWM:bg A21-05670 (12-20-2021)

1 WHEREAS, if the City had to go to formal bid rather than participate in the 2 LA Contract considerably more funds would be required; 3 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Long Beach resolves as 4 follows:

Section 1. The City Manager or designee is hereby authorized to enter a contract with Frontier California Inc. for local and long distance telephone, data communications, and internet services, in an annual amount not to exceed Two Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,200,000) until the City of Los Angeles contract expires on March 31, 2024, with the option to renew, for as long as the City of Los Angeles contract is in effect, at the discretion of the City Manager.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting this resolution.
