Dear City Officials,

Please vote to oppose this proposal. I urge you not to rush to put the city in further debt to provide more “luxury” housing but apparently yet no affordable housing for the $50-$80 k range. Furthermore, this low rise configuration is unlikely the best configuration for this property, don’t you agree?

What happens if this project fails? The taxpayers will be left holding the bag of an even greater financial burden. I know you don’t want another failed project at a time like this when we already have the current burden of the failed Queen Mary and Community Hospital proposals on your watch.

When properties must get sold to pay off debt, that is an indirect strategy for privatization that does not support the public welfare.

Respectfully,

Linda Scholl
Long Beach, Ca
