[email protected] As a Parks and Recreation Commission member, I encourage the City to formally oppose newly
introduced AB1910 (C. Garcia). Proudly, Long Beach
adopted a new Strategic Plan for Parks last month
that includes goals of increasing open space and
equitable park programming. This proposed bill
would subsidize taking existing open/green space -
that not only provides recreation but ground water
recapture and trees for CO2 capture - and turn it into
concrete...that should be unacceptable and frankly,
incomprehensible!! It is imperative that Long Beach
oppose any proposed legislation that could set the
horrific precedent of taking any green/open space
and turning it into concrete no matter the reason!
Bob Livingstone, District 4 resident.

One hopes that it goes without further explanation
that overreacting to the clear Russian intent to foment war in Ukraine would be a bad...
