A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LONG BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MA NAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH CRAFCO,
INC. ON THE SAM E TERM S AND CONDITIONS
AFFORDED TO SOURCEWELL, A STATE OF MI NNESOTA
LOCAL GOVERNM ENT
COOPERATIVE, TO
UNIT AND
AS-NEEDED
SERVICE
ROADWAY
MA INTENANCE EQUIPM ENT, MA TERIALS, AND
SUPPLIES, IN AN ANNUAL AM OUNT OF $1,000,000, PLUS
A 20% CONTINGENCY OF $200,000, FOR A TOTAL
ANNUAL NOT TO EXCEED AM OUNT OF $1,200,000,
UNTIL THE CURRENT CONTRACT EXPIRES ON
OCTOBER 11, 2025, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR
AS LONG AS THE SOURCEWELL CONTRACT IS IN
EFFECT, AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CITY MA NAGER
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Long Beach, Section 1802, permits the City Ma nager to enter into a contract on behalf of the City, in writing or otherwise, without advertising for bids, for services, supplies, materials, equipment or labor, with other government agencies, when authorized by resolution; and WHEREAS, the City requires as-needed roadway maintenance equipment, materials, and supplies; and
WHEREAS, Crafco, Inc. has a contract with Sourcewell, a state of Mi nnesota local government unit and service cooperative, for roadway maintenance equipment, Contract No. 080521- CFC ("Sourcewell Contract"); and
WHEREAS, the City's participation in the Sourcewell Contract will facilitate 1 EWM:bg A22-00552 (02-18-2022)

1 acquisition of as-needed roadway maintenance equipment, materials and supplies as well 2 as provide considerable cost benefits to the City; and 3 WHEREAS, if the City had to go to formal bid rather than participate in the 4 Sourcewell Contract considerably more funds would be required; 5 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Long Beach resolves as 6 follows:
7 Section 1. The City Ma nager or designee is hereby authorized to enter a 8 contract with Crafco, Inc. for as-needed roadway maintenance equipment, materials and 9 supplies, in the annual amount of One Mi llion Dollars ($1,000,000), with a twenty percent 10 (20%) contingency in the amount of Two Hundred Thousanc::I Dollars ($200,000), for a total 11 . annual amount not to exceed of One Mi llion Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,2 00,000), 16 17

28 until the Sourcewell Contract expires on October 11, 2025, with the option to renew for as long as the Sourcewell Contract is in effect and at the discretion of the City Ma nager.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting this resolution.
