GOAL: To increase coordination across City
Departments in responding and addressing homelessness
• The Interdepartmental team began convening in 2017

• Address policy questions/concerns around the
implementation of city services and responses as it relates to homelessness
• Align resources to best respond and meet the needs of both our housed and unhoused community members
• Ensure coordinated response and messaging
Purpose

• Outreach Protocols
• Encampment Cleanup Protocols
• Fire Safety Protocols
• Improved collaboration with interjurisdictional partners including an MOU with Caltrans
• Joint responses around homelessness
• New funding to address direct service and cleaning efforts • Creation of library outreach worker positions
