Please put my written comments in the City Council minutes for tonight's meeting:
Good evening,
Again, I ask City Council to censure Laura Doud for her unethical actions. Please tell us why there are two standards for City employees and elected officials...why is this city so poorly run with no accountability for elected officials. I listened to her last night at the debates and she is not honest...the RSM accountancy firm found that Doud was responsible for questionable acts, please include the Beachcomber article as well:
Why did Laura Doud set up contractual arrangements for Gagan and Davis Group without clear service deliverables and other industry standard contract terms, Doud paid $434,073 in public funds with no scopes of work. Expending public funds for political campaigns is against the law , but Doud and Robert Garcia campaigned for Measures AAA and BBB (in itself highly unethical for Doud to get involved in Measures)
People want City Council to do the right thing and we also need to make sure elected officials are held to the same standard as other employees. She needs to be censured.
