eComments Report for Public Safety Committee Meeting Agenda of June 24, 2022 Item Name E-Mail Address Neighborhood City State Zip Comment Received PUBLIC COMMENT john doe ti [email protected] 90813 It is my opinion that the Long Beach Police reduces safety by it being overly empathetic in which it does not issue citations in District 1,2 and 6 for public nuisances such as amplified music from vehicles. This noise nuisance has propagated to fireworks, vehicles with louder than allowed exhaust,
vehicles going in circles at intersections with skidding tires, motorcycles on the bicycle beach path, speeding, and other, twenty-four hours a day. Also, the lack of enforcement
produces a loss of revenue to which the Police Department could use for technology, hiring or resources. Last, the Long Beach Police allocates its few resources selectively, such as placing motor officers with radar to issue speeding tickets in affluent area of District 4, but not found in more impoverished District 6.
