Subject: Agenda Consent Calendar #1 $$ to city attorney
-EXTERNAL-
Please post with Jul 5, 2022 Agenda Calendar Consent item #1 and acknowledge receipt.
This city has become nothing less than a Chicago-by-the-sea, squandering taxpayer $$ for frivolous spending, pet projects, and bloated salaries. Needed infrastructure repairs be damned.
Why should the taxpayers continue paying for gross mistakes of the city attorney's office. Let the city attorney's office take it out of their own inflated budget along with the Measure M $800,000+ plaintiff attorney fees.
The taxpayers are being penalized in the form of general fund grabs which equal reduced services and higher fees/taxes/parking tickets. We already have some of the highest taxes in the nation.
Also, why are we spending so much $$ farming out work that the city attorney should be handling? What purpose does he even serve? It seems like the taxpayers have become his personal piggy bank.
The big elephant-in-the-room question is....how much have this firm (Javis, Fay, and Gipson, LLP) and others that are on the dole of the city attorney contributed to political campaigns?
