Subject: Fund Transfer: Divide By 9 Sponsorship
RECOMMENDATION:
Increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $7500 offset by $7500 of Ninth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to the following:
Long Beach Partners of Parks, in the amount of $5000;
Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride (LBLGP) Inc, in the amount of $2500; and, Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $7500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
Discussion
Vice Mayor Richardson and would like to provide support for two community events:
• Long Beach Partners of Parks is seeking funding for the Long Beach Juneteenth celebration.
• LBLGP Inc. is seeking funding for the 2022 Long Beach Pride Parade and Festival.
Fiscal Impact
No Financial Management review was able to be conducted due to the urgency and time sensitivity of this item.
Urgency Statement
As the July 5th City Council meeting is the final meeting before the Pride P arade, which is scheduled for July 10th, urgency is requested for this item.
Suggested Action
Approve recommendation.
