Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $70,000.00, in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Raquel Navarro v. City of Long Beach, Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. BC686956.
DISCUSSION
Plaintiff alleges she tripped and fell over an uplifted sidewalk on November 29, 2019, resulting in injuries.
Following extensive negotiations, Plaintiff agreed to accept $70,000.00 - inclusive of attorneys' fees and costs - as a full, global settlement of this case.
The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Government, Personnel and Elections Oversight Committee (Attorney/Client) on July 19, 2022.
SUGGESTED ACTION:
Approve recommendation.
