Although I realize anything I say will be tossed into the junk file, I want you to know that your new take on a police commission is laughable at best.
The current group includes citizens with no skin in the game; granted, nothing they do gains traction because your city manager makes sure of that. Now you want to have a director who reports only to Tom Modica?
That’s laughable, too - maybe even guffawable?
I realize you’ve already decided to place these four poorly written changes on the ballot at a cost of $100,000 each plus the obvious costs to citizens (you know, the ones you live to tax).
Rethink these four amendments and come back with something workable.
Those of us who have more equity in this city than you’ll ever have will make it our job between now and November to make sure you don’t get to harvest an extra 14-20 votes to get this crap passed.
